First of all, I want to say that this has been an incredibly joyful time, filled with genuine emotions. I was so lucky with the people who surrounded me during this past month. I honestly don’t know how things would have been without them. teachers! That’s another area where I feel incredibly lucky. Each one of them is so passionate about what they do that every lesson felt like a gift. Anatomy was unexpectedly fascinating (even though it was hard at first, especially with all the English terms I didn’t know — muscles, ligaments, etc.). But the teacher explained everything in such a simple and clear way that it made you want to learn more and more. We never wanted to let him leave the classroom! The mantra teacher — he’s like an angel. He looks like a little angel: curly-haired, sweet, his eyes shine with purity, and he sings like a god. I couldn’t help but cry every time I heard him sing. Meditation and pranayama — words can’t even begin to describe it. It’s so hard to explain the state he guided us into. You really have to experience it for yourself! But as I’ve shared before, I now truly know that we are not just our bodies. I was able to feel my energy, in the literal sense of the word. I felt my soul. Just thinking about it now makes my heart beat so fast. Overall, the course was deep, intense, and packed with hours of practice. I’m absolutely thrilled with the knowledge I’ve gained, and it’s inspired me to keep going. I’ll continue practicing and, in time, I’ll deepen my studies with further training. I have been practicing yoga (asanas) for 8+ years and was looking for a program to take my practice to the next level and help me to teach / share with others at the same time. This program was recommended to me by 2 of my teachers and turned out to be an excellent choice, so wanted to share my experience. The RYY program is outstanding -- well organized and structured, taught by very knowledgeable (world class!) teachers with deep expertise, able to accommodate beginners yet expand the practice of seasoned practitioners, has a class size that allowed each of us to engage with the teachers and learn from each other, good food and accommodations. At the same time, it exceeded my expectations in a number of ways (a) the why of yoga – I came away with a much deeper understanding of yoga philosophy that has enabled me to both internalize and communicate working towards peace and harmony (b) it is based on an embodied yoga practice that will build and sustain my practice over the long term (c) an overall experience that truly refreshed and enriched.The embodied yoga practice that is taught there in addition to traditional practices, is an amazing and distinctive ideology that allows each of us to build and develop our own practice in alignment with our body and mind. It enables us to get the most out of our practice, regardless of different / changing body types, strength and flexibility levels, experience and needs over time.
